The Minimalist Lifestyle

Minimalist 2010

Minimalist Year 2010As some of you know, a much-loved member of my family passed away during Thanksgiving week. At a time like this, one has to reflect upon one’s current path. Is it where I want to go? Am I making the right choices? Am I using my time wisely? Are my goals solid or sketchy?

The new year is coming soon, too, which makes it another time for reflecting upon one’s path.

So, for myself, I have two very big reasons to ask myself these questions.

The Minimalist Lifestyle blog, though still in its first stages, is something I have grown very fond of, and I intend to write here more often. However, for the rest of the year, I’ll be planning and streamlining how I live online, so I hope you’ll stick by me and tune in once I go full steam ahead with minimalist living in 2010.

You are welcome to offer your suggestions for this blog. I want to help you thrive in your minimalist life, and can do that better if I know what your concerns are.

My thinking is that the blog will grow to be one of minimalist tips, minimalist designs, minimalist zen and spirituality…even minimalist products that help make life easier. Drop me a line when you can; it would be a real pleasure to be in tune with what your needs and concerns are…to have your say in how the blog evolves. . .

In the meantime, minimalist living is organized living. Are you planning to be more organized in 2010? What energy drains do plan to cut out? What time wasters are you going to eliminate? What items in your home do you plan to throw away or give away?  Does your New Year’s resolution reflect that? Are you committed to being the best you can be? It starts with organizing your life.

I wish for you that your best year yet will be the year 2010!

I think this is a wonderful blog and I love that you plan to add some designs, minimalist zen, and spirituality in the coming year. I plan to let go of too much clutter in the house. Spend my time more wisely on the internet and make more time to just relax and enjoy life.

We will always stick by you. I love this blog too. It reminds me to do things. I think the best thing to organize my home would be if I moved out of it :)

I’m afraid I’m a pack rat Mimi and Haley is a minimalist, so our
house is immaculate in her space and cluttered in mine, but I do
see the value of a minimalist lifestyle. I’m just a sinner-man, who
finds it hard to let things go. I’m sorry to hear of your recent
loss of a family loved one. It does bring about a time of
reflection and reconstruction. May God guide you and protect you
    on your path.

Mimi…..perfect message. I too will be streamlining while trying to move all of my earnings to the Internet.

Treating Internet activities as a business will make me see the bottom line of time spent and streamlining will help me organize and get back on track.

This blog has been one of my favorites from its inception and I will always look forward to the awesome messages found here.

Thanks for being you, Sis! :D

I enjoyed reading all your blog entries. At one time I was on top of things – oh, that seems such a long time ago.

Yes, I am going to be more organized in 2010. There are too many paper products that I have gathered because of lack of time to read them. There are so many things to do and places to go on Squidoo that I feel overwhelmed and that I am spinning my wheels. I don’t get back to the lenses I told myself that I was going to visit.

I have decided to organize my Internet money making activities.

Hi Mimi, I must have been under a rock because I didn’t realize how trough of a time you were having and I’m so sorry for your loss. I will always love and respect you no matter what. You have made a profound impact on my life.

I think streamlining everything is the best way to go in the new year.
I know I plan to cut excess from every part of my life, in fact, I have already began to do just that.

A few days ago I think Michelle said it best in a chat when she said it was “back to the basics”. I agreed and said that should be the motto for 2010.

I am by no means a minimalist and I never will be because it’s just not me, but I do get a great deal of value from this blog because it is helping me find ways to ease the chaos in my life.

I can’t thank you enough for that.

Crystal, thank you for those very kind words. And you are welcome. It is my pleasure to help folks, and especially with my passion for minimalist living! Not that I am one in the truest sense. I do have a hubby that likes to keep stuff, and I must admit, some of the things he’s kept have come in very handy.

Lots of “back to basics” here as well. Gotta stay on track this year!

Recovering pack rat here mostly enjoying my transformation to minimalist. A bumpy road of feelings of loss as I release various treasures, will be moving in the next few months and need to shed some skin. Recent divorce forcing many changes in the long run all good, time to let past and the collections of stuff related to it go. A huge process for a recovering packrat, yet I look forward to streamlining and releasing the chaos and stress that owning all the crap brings. Each area of the house that I empty and/or organize brings relief.
